Hello fellow yellowstoneians.

We've been staying at Slough Creek all week in our RV (Discovery 37D) and every day
we unhitch and do the run up to Roosevelt, Mammoth or Norris.

Strange thing is that every day this week we've hit more and more birds with the RV,
and it seems to happen more and more the faster we go. I almost purposely slowed
down below 65 when it got too bad (didn't want to break the windscreen).

Here is the daily count so far:

Sun-1
Mon-0
Tues-2
Wed-4
Thu-7*
Fri-5

*one of the birds on Thursday was a duck walking across the road, I probably
shouldn't count it.

What is going on here? Is this a problem every year?

Talking to the people at the campground, we thought maybe due to the rain, there
were a lot of bugs, and the birds are out feeding. I did notice we get more at night.

Anyone else see this happening?

Happy Motorin'! Doug

PS: look for us at Slough Creek, we'll be there till next Sunday. We are in the
Fleetwood with the big yellow stripe and two satellite dishes and the heavy bag
hanging from the awning.
